“I have been asked what I mean by ‘word of honor’. I will tell you: Place me behind prison walls-- walls of stone ever so high, ever so thick, reaching ever so far into the ground-- there is a possibility that in some way or another I might be able to escape; but stand me on the floor and draw a chalk line around me and have me give my word of honor never to cross it. Can I get out of that circle? No, never! I’d die first.”-Karl G. Maeser

This quote is saying that, it is better to be told not to do something then to be punished in back of bars. So, it is better to be told not to get out or move from a place then to be locked up in jail where you can’t even look around you and be surrounded by walls. Mr. Maeser telling us that if he breaks his word of honor people won’t be able to trust it. If someone were to break my word of honor i wouldn't talk to them no more because they aren’t people that are to be trusted. They aren’t to be trusted because they didn’t keep a promise and people like that aren’t trusted because they are fake. That is why you have to make sure and choose wise who you hang out with. Friends that don’t break your word are the good ones because they are real friends and will not break a promise. People like that you should be around because they are ctr people. Ctr people are good people and you can trust them with anything.
