What this quote is saying is that independence can only exist if you do what is right. So for example if you want to go out with your friends to a party or somewhere but you have to ask your mom to let you go, you have to do things that are good or else she won’t let you go and you won’t have the freedom you would want to. This is why we all have to do what is good because if we want independence and freedom we have to do the right choices. Good choices will bring you so much freedom because your parents will trust you. So if you want your freedom and independence make the right choices and never choose the wrong because it isn;t a good thing to do. Being good and making the right choices will make you feel good about yourself. So if you want freedom do what is right and always listen to you parents so they know how independent you can be.
